over to the Treasurer of Cecil County, shall be appropriated by
said Treasurer to the payment of all fees in criminal cases
chargeable against Cecil County; and all fines, penalties, for-
feitures, Justice's costs and State's witness fees collected and
received by said Police Justice for violation of any and all
ordinances of the Town of Rising Sun, so paid over to the said
Treasurer of Cecil County, shall be paid to the Commissioners
of Rising Sun, after deducting therefrom all Justice's costs
in all cases tried and heard by said Police Justice for the
violation of any ordinance of the Town of Rising Sun, by the
said Treasurer of Cecil County; and the said Justice's costs
so deducted and collected for the trial of cases in violation of
the ordinances of Rising Sun shall be used and paid on account
of the salary or compensation of said Police Justices, paid by
the County Commissioners of Cecil County, as hereinafter
provided by Section 23 8E of this sub-title.

238E. The said Police Justice shall receive as compensa-
tion for his services the sum of fifty dollars per month, or the
proportionate part thereof, so long as he shall continue to act
as such Police Justice, said salary to be paid monthly by the
County Commissioner of Cecil County, and shall be paid as
full compensation for services as Police Justice; and no Police
Justice shall charge any fee other than provided by law 01
receive any gratuity for making any commitment, granting any
release, or the performance of any duty required by law in
criminal cases, but the said County Commissioners shall in no
case pay the aforesaid salary until the said Police Justice shall
have filed his monthly reports as required by Section 238D of
this sub-title.

238F. If any Police Justice shall be unable by reason of
sickness, absence, relationship or other temporary cause what-
soever to attend to his duties as such Police Justice, it shall
be the duty of the State's Attorney for said county to designate
and require another Justice of the Peace, to perform the duties
of said Police Justice so sick, absent or otherwise unable to
perform the duties of his office, so long as the same may be
necessary, and the State's Attorney shall forthwith certify any
selection he may make to the County Commissioners of Cecil
County. The Justice so required to perform said duties as
Police Justice shall receive the same compensation prescribed
for said Police Justice and shall be paid by the County Com-
