CHAPTER 138.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 39 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Fish and
Fisheries, " sub-title "Further Regulations in County
Waters, " said new section to be known as Section 40A and
to follow immediately after Section 40 of said Article, to
prohibit the catching or taking of fish by dip nets within
100 feet of the lower side of any dam in Washington
County.

CHAPTER 139.

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 19 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"St. Mary's County, " sub-title "Circuit Court, " to be under
sub-heading "Court Stenographer, " said new sections to be
known as Sections 45A and 45B, and to- follow imme-
diately after Section 45 of said Article, providing for the
appointment, compensation and duties of the court stenog-
rapher for St. Mary's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That two new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County, " sub-title "Cir-
cuit Court, " to be under sub-heading "Court Stenographer, "
said new sections to be known as Sections 45A and 45B,
to follow immediately after Section 45 of said Article and to
read as follows:

45A. The judges of the Circuit Court for St. Mary's County
are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to appoint a
court stenographer for said St. Mary's County, who shall be
a sworn officer of said court. And the said stenographer so
appointed shall be paid a per diem of not exceeding twelve
dollars per day for each and every day of actual service,
which per diem shall be levied by the County Commissioners,
and be paid by the County Treasurer of said St. Mary's Coun-
ty at the close of each jury term of the Circuit Court for St..
