($30, 000. 00) and to issue and sell bonds therefor and to use
and expend the proceeds thereof for permanently financing
a deficiency in the construction of police stations in said
county and to provide for the payment of the interest and
principal of said bonds by the levy of taxes; and to provide
that said Act shall be passed as an emergency measure.
WHEREAS, The County Commissioners of Montgomery
County by virtue of the provisions of Chapter 405 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1927, were
authorized to borrow money and to issue bonds in the sum of
sixty thousand dollars ($60, 000. 00) for the purpose of con-
structing two county police stations in said county; and
WHEREAS, The bonds so authorized were issued and sold and
said sum of sixty thousand dollars ($60, 000. 00) so borrowed;,
and
WHEREAS, The police stations therein authorized were built
and constructed; and
WHEREAS, The cost of said stations, together with the cost of
land therefor acquired, aggregated the sum of ninety thousand
dollars ($90, 000. 00), thereby creating a deficit in the sum of
thirty thousand dollars ($30*000. 00); and
WHEREAS, The County Commissioners of Montgomery
County borrowed money upon short time certificates of indebt-
edness for the purpose of temporarily financing said deficiency;
and made payment thereof from the general funds of Mont-
gomery County; and
WHEREAS, It is the desire of the County Commissioners of
Montgomery County and the purpose of the General Assembly
of Maryland to refund to the treasury of Montgomery County
the advance above referred to; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery
County be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
issue serial coupon bonds on the credit of said county to the
amount of thirty thousand dollars ($30, 000. 00), said bonds
to be issued in sums of one hundred ($100. 00) dollars, or any
