define its boundaries; to provide for the construction,
maintenance and repair of streets, highways, sidewalks,
curbs and gutters; to provide for the issuance of certifi-
cates of indebtedness on the credit of the town for the
purpose of such construction, and to levy taxes, assess-
ments and benefits for the payment of said certificates
of indebtedness; to provide for the levying and collection
of taxes on real, personal and mixed property located
within the defined boundaries of said municipal corpora-
tion for the payment of the cost of maintenance, opera-
tion and regulation of said University Park, and for other
purposes; and to provide for the submission of this ques-
tion to the qualified voters of said town for their adoption
or rejection.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Mary kind, That the citizens of the town of University Park
in Prince George's County are hereby created a body cor-
porate, by the name of Mayor and Common Council of
University Park, with all the powers and privileges of a
body politic, and by said corporate name they may have
perpetual succession, sue and be sued, have and use a com-
mon seal, and may purchase and hold real, personal and
mixed property for municipal purposes, and dispose of the
same for the benefit of said town.
SEC. 2. And be it further 'enacted, That the boundaries
of said town shall be as follows:
All that certain piece or parcel of ground situate, and
being in the Riverdale District, Prince George's County,
Maryland, being the same premises conveyed by James R.
H. Deakins, widower, and Elizabeth A. Deakins, unmarried,
to the Riverdale Realty Corporation by deed dated April 2,
1930, and recorded May 4, 1920, in Liber No. 158 at Folio
77 of the Land Records of Prince George's County, Mary-
land, and conveyed by the Riverdale Realty Corporation to
the University Park Company, Inc., by deed dated April 3,
1923, and recorded April 4, 1923, in Liber No. 194 at Folio
64 of the Land Records of Prince George's County, Mary-
land, and being more particularly described as follows,
to wit:
A part of Edmonson's Pasture re-surveyed on
Jackson's Necessity and Smith's Folly lying and
being in Bladensburg District, Prince George's
County, Maryland, now known as Bloomfield, be-
