and to prescribe reasonable and proper penalties for such
violations.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1986.

CHAPTER 72.

AN ACT to validate, ratify and confirm a certain agree-
ment made between F. W. Besley, State Forester, and
the Manor Mining and Manufacturing Company, a Cor-
poration, on January 22, 1931, simultaneously with the
execution, delivery and acceptance of a deed from the
Manor Mining and Manufacturing Company to the
State of Maryland of approximately 6, 029. 26 acres of
land, more or less, situate and lying in Garrett County,
Maryland, and being parts of the tract of land known as
Swans Potomac Manor, and which are more particularly
mentioned and described as the first, second and third
lots in said deed from the Manor Mining and Manufac-
turing Company to the State of Maryland dated Jan-
uary 22, 1931 and recorded among the Land Records of
Garrett County, Maryland in Liber E. Z. P. No. 102,
folio 283, etc.

WHEREAS, the Manor Mining and Manufacturing Com-
pany, a Corporation, being seized of a large tract of land
in Garrett County, Maryland, and being desirous of pro-
moting the aims and purposes of the State Board of For-
estry in the accumulation of lands in the name of the
State of Maryland suitable for forest cultures and reserves,
did on January 22, 1931 grant and convey unto the State
of Maryland three tracts of land in Garrett County, Mary-
land, containing in all 6, 029. 26 acres of land, more or less,
which said tracts of land are more particularly mentioned
and described in a deed from said Manor Mining and
Manufacturing Company to the State of Maryland dated
January 22, 1931 and recorded among the Land Records
of Garrett County aforesaid in Liber E. Z. P. No. 102, folio
283, etc.; and
