ond day after the close of the session provided for in this sec-
tion notify all persons whose names have been stricken from
the registration list of such fact.

CHAPTER 356.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 8
of Chapter 692 of the Acts of 1927, so as to authorize and
empower the Board of County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County to grade, construct, reconstruct, pave or
otherwise improve streets, sidewalks, alleys or highways
and assess the cost of certain parts thereof against abutting
property found benefited according to the classification of
such property and to provide for notice and hearings with
respect to such improvements and assessments and provide
for the collection of such assesments, and to authorize and
empower the Board of County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County to borrow money upon the faith and credit
of said County for the purpose of carrying out the provi-
sions of said Section 8 of said Chapter 692 of the Acts of
1927 and to provide for the issuance by said Board, as
evidence of such indebtedness, of certificates of indebtedness,
to fix the interest rate thereon and the maturities of said
certificates, to authorize the sale thereof by said Board and
to provide for the levy of annual taxes and the application
of the said taxes and the special assessments provided in said
Section 8 to the payment of the interest on, and the retire-
ment of, said certificates of indebtedness; and to declare this
Act an emergency law and make it effective from the date
of its passage.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 8 of Chapter 692 of the Acts of 1927
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows:
8. That whenever in its judgment, the public health, safety
or comfort requires it, the Board of County Commissioners is
hereby authorized and empowered to grade, construct, recon-
