the filing of notices of liens for taxes payable to the United
States of America and certificates discharging such liens
with the Clerks of the Circuit Courts of the Counties of
Maryland and the Clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore
City, and to make uniform the law relating thereto.

CHAPTER 336.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 143
of Article 1 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Allegany County, " sub-title "Frostburg, " as enacted by
Chapter 234 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1918, providing for the amount of compensation to
be paid to the Mayor and the Councilmen, and other officers
of the City of Frostburg.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 143 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Frostburg, " as enacted by
Chapter 234 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1918, be, and the same is hereby repealed and re-en-
acted with amendments so as to read as follows:

143. The Mayor and Councilmen of Frostburg may al-
low their Clerk, Treasurer, Chief of Police, Policemen, and
other officers such reasonable compensation for their services as
they may deem proper and shall have the power to dismiss any
of them, subject to the limitations set forth in Section 142A of
Chapter 195 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1927, at pleasure. The Mayor shall receive a salary
of Five Hundred Dollars per annum, and the four Councilmen
shall each receive a salary of Three Hundred Dollars per an-
num.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1929.
