CHAPTER 266.

AN ACT to repeal Article 92 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, title "Terrapins—Diamond Back and Salt Water, "
and to enact in lieu thereof a new Article, to be known as
Article 92, title "Terrapins—Diamond Back and Salt
Water. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Article 92 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, title "Terrapins—Diamond Back and Salt Water, " be
and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in lieu of said Arti-
cle 92 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, repealed by Section
1 of this Act, a new Article, to be known as Article 92, title
"Terrapins—Diamond Back and Salt Water, " be and it is
hereby enacted, to read as follows:

1. It shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch or
have in possession in this State any salt water terrapin, dia-
mond back terrapin or skilpots and sliders, between the first
day of April and the thirty-first day of October in any year,
both dates inclusive.

It shall be unlawful for any person to have in possession in
this State any terrapin mentioned in Section 1, during any
closed season, taken or caught within the State of Maryland
or in any other state, territory or country.

It shall be unlawful for any person to purchase and place
in pen or pens, or take from said pen or pens, any terrapin
to be offered for sale, barter or exchange during any closed
season. Provided, however, terrapin alive may be held in pens
built in the water used by dealers or persons for propagation
purposes during the closed season.

2. It shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch
or have in possession any terrapin mentioned in this Act less
than five inches in length, measurement to be made on the
bottom shell.

3. It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with
or in any manner take or destroy any terrapin eggs or have
same in possession at any time, provided, however, the posses-
sion of said eggs shall not apply to persons owning pens built
