each succeeding May, beginning with the first Monday in May,
1930, three persons possessing the qualifications herein enu-
merated shall be elected as Councilmen; and every two years
on the first Monday in May in such years, beginning with the
first Monday in May in the year 1930 one person at least thirty
years of age, possessing the qualifications herein enumerated
shall be elected as Mayor of the said town. The Mayor and
the Councilmen shall serve for two years, beginning with
the first Monday in June ensuing after their election.

(B) dominations for Mayor and Councilmen shall be made
at a meeting of citizens called by the Town Clerk at the direc-
tion of the Council. Such meeting1 shall be held at a con-
venient place within the town to be designated by the Council
and notice thereof shall be given through a newspaper or
newspapers of general circulation within the town or by hand-
balls generally distributed and posted throughout the town and
the said meeting shall be held on the Monday evening prior
to the election. The Town Clerk shall preside at said meet-
ing; a Secretary shall be chosen who is a legal voter in the
town and he shall keep a record of the proceedings of said
meeting and file the same in the office of the Town Clerk.

Candidates for Mayor shall be not less than thirty years of
age and candidates for Councilmen not less than twenty-five
years of age; they shall have resided in the town at least one
year immediately preceding their nomination and be legal
voters and property holders therein. Nominations of candi-
dates for Mayor and Councilmen shall be made on motion of
any citizen who is a qualified voter in the town and if such
nomination is seconded by at least two additional qualified
voters, and not otherwise, the person so nominated shall be
considered a candidate and his name shall be placed upon the
official ballot.

(C) Elections shall be conducted by three judges and a
clerk, appointed by the Council and shall be held at some con-
venient place to be designated by the Council; any vacancy in
the list of Judges or Clerk occurring between their appoint-
ment and the election, shall be filled by the Mayor. The polls
shall be opened at 6. 00 o'clock A. M., and closed at 7. 00
o'clock P. M., when the ballots shall be carefully counted, and
on the result appearing, certificates of election shall be granted
by the judges to the Mayor and Councilmen so elected, and a
report of the election shall be filed with the Council.
