as shall to them lawfully appertain to do and transact for the
well being of said corporation and the due management and
the well ordering of the affairs thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 127.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Chapter
267 of the Acts of 1927, so as to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County to levy
an amount of money not exceeding eighteen thousand
($18, 000. 00) dollars, for the year 1929, and every year
thereafter, including such additional amounts as may 'be
necessary for the purchase, maintenance and replacement
reserve of fire fighting equipment, of volunteer fire companies
of Anne Arundel County, including the City of Annapolis,
now in existence, and such other volunteer fire companies
as may be created hereafter; and to apportion the said
amounts of money among the said volunteer¹ fire companies
now existing and such volunteer fire companies as may be
created hereafter; to have general supervision over all volun-
teer fire companies' chauffeurs in Anne Arundel County,
excluding the City of Annapolis, to pay their salaries from
the road tax; to require and compel annual financial reports
from said volunteer fire companies; to approve or disapprove
the creation of all future volunteer fire companies and to
provide for the date which said payments shall be made.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County are hereby authorized and empowered to levy an amount
of money not exceeding eighteen thousand ($18, 000. 00) dol-
lars, for the year 1929, and every year thereafter including
such additional amounts as may be necessary for the purchase,
maintenance and replacement reserve of fire fighting equip-
ment of volunteer fire companies of Anne Arundel County,
including the City of Annapolis, and such other volunteer fire
