CHAPTER 117.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
240, 241, 244 and 245 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, Edition of 1924, title "Revenue and Taxes, "
sub-title "State Auditor"; and to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 240A of said Article and sub-title,
as enacted by Chapter 674 of the Acts of 1927.

CHAPTER 118.

AN ACT to authorize and permit the Synepuxent Pier and
Improvement Company, Inc., a body corporate of the State
of Maryland, to erect, construct, operate and maintain a
pier at Ocean City extending from the westerly side of
Atlantic Avenue at said Ocean City and running across said
Atlantic Avenue and extending into the Atlantic Ocean.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the Synepuxent Pier and Improvement Com-
pany, Inc., a body corporate of the State of Maryland, be and
it is hereby authorized and permitted to erect, construct,
operate and maintain a pier at Ocean City, at such location
and of such specifications as to it may seem best, extending
from the westerly side of Atlantic Avenue in said Ocean City
and running across said Atlantic Avenue easterly into and on
the Atlantic Ocean; provided the said body corporate obtain
the approval and consent of the Mayor and Council of Ocean
City, a municipal corporation and of the War Department of
the United States and of the persons owning property on
which the said pier abuts.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.
