passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all
the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 68.

AN ACT to authorize, in their discretion the County Com-
missioners of Washington County to levy and collect such
amount as they may deem necessary, not. however, to exceed
the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2, 500) in the year
1929, and not to exceed the sum of twenty-five hundred
($2, 500) dollars in 1930 for the completion of the repairs
begun under Chapter 27 of the Acts of 1924 of the build-
ing in Hagerstown, owned and occupied by the Washington
County Free Library.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Washington
County be and they are hereby authorized, in their discretion,
not mandatorily, to levy and collect in the year 1929 such
amount as they may deem necessary, not however, to exceed
the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2, 500), and in the
year 1930 such amount as they may deem necessary, not, how-
ever, to exceed the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2, -
500), for the completion of the repairs, both inside and out-
side, of the building in Hagerstown owned and occupied by
the Washington County Free Library, begun under Chapter
27 of the Acts of 1924.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Washington County be and they are hereby au-
thorized, in their discretion, not mandatorily, to levy in June,
1929, and in June, 1930, a tax on all the assessable property
in the County sufficient to produce the amounts provided for
in Section 1 of this Act, for the purpose of completing the re-
pairing to the building in Hagerstown owned and occupied by
the Washington County Free Library.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1929.
