said person who would have been liable, shall be liable to an
action for damages, notwithstanding the death of the person
injured, and although the death shall have been caused under
such circumstances as amount in law to felony provided, how-
ever, that any such action against the executor or adminis-
trator of the said person who would have been liable shall be
commenced within six calendar months after the death of the
said person who would have been liable.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 571.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
153 and 154 of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1924 Edition), title "Corporations, " sub-title "Com-
panies for the Erection of Bridges, " by including companies
for digging, constructing: and maintaining canals under said
sub-title and conferring the same powers upon such corpora-
tions with reference to canals as corporations have with
reference to bridges, and providing the method of condem-
nation of lands or property of any kind, or interest therein.
SECTION 1.. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 153 and 154 of Article 23 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Corpora-
tions, " sub-title "Companies for the Erection of Bridges, " be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
153. If any corporation formed under the provisions of
this Article shall desire to erect any bridge over any river,
creek or stream of water in this State, or between this and
another State, or shall desire to dig, construct or maintain any
canal for transportation by means of water, the said corpora-
tion must have obtained or shall first obtain the consent, in
writing, of the county commissioners of the county in which
said bridge or said canal may be proposed to be located; or
if said bridge be proposed to be erected over a stream dividing
