sation for all services rendered the State of Maryland re-
quired of him under this Act; and for services rendered the
city of Westminister in cases for violation of its ordinances he
shall be paid by it the usual fees prescribed by law, and no
justice of the peace so selected for police justice shall be
permitted to charge any fee or receive a gratuity for issuing any
warrants, taking any recognizances, making any commitment,
granting any release, or for the performance of any duty re-
quired by law in criminal cases, except for issuing peace war-
rants.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 508.
AN ACT to repeal Section 48 of Article 17 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts, "
sub-title "Clerk of the Court of Appeals, " said section relat-
ing to appropriations for expense of Clerk's office.
WHEREAS, Since the adoption of the Budget Amendment, sec-
tions of the Code providing for specific appropriations to the
several departments are useless and superfluous; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 48 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts, " sub-title
"Clerk of the Court of Appeals, " be and it is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.
