after defined, except the bay shore of Kent County up to
Howell's Point, and except on the west side of the Bay from
Pooles Island north to one-half mile north of Spesutia Island,
not to exceed 800 yards from the shore. For the purpose of
this section the head waters of the Chesapeake Bay shall be
defined as follows: All waters west and south of the following
line shall be considered belonging to the Chesapeake Bay, to
wit: a line drawn from Carpenter's Point, thence to Grove
Point, and a line drawn from Grove Point to Howell's Point,
but not to include any tributary of said Bay.

PATUXENT RIVER,

Sec, 47. It shall be unlawful for any person, between
the 5th day of March and the 15th day of May, both dates
inclusive, to use any seine or net with mesh less than 1½
inches square, or during the rest of the year with any seine
or net with mesh less than 2 inches square.

It shall be unlawful for any person to set, place, construct
or use any net of any kind or description in any part of
the Patuxent River from Queen Anne Bridge to the mouth
of said river, nearer than 500 yards in every direction from
any other net; or to set, place construct or use any net more
than 175 yards in length, including the leaders or hedges or
wings thereto, below a straight line from Truman's Point
Wharf across said river to a point on the shore directly oppo-
site said wharf; or to set, place, construct or use any net
more than 50 yards in length including the leaders, hedges
or wings thereto, above the said straight line from Truman's
Point Wharf; or to set any nets at a greater distance across
the waters of the Patuxent River from low water mark on
either side, or to use nets of greater length than the lengths
permitted in the waters mentioned, provided that the above
shall not apply to floating gill nets or seines.

It shall be unlawful to use or haul any seine or gill net
in any creek, cove or tributary of the Patuxent River at any
time when the mouth of the creek or tributary is less than
200 feet wide.

SEVERN RIVER.

Sec. 48. Fishing with nets of any description, or any other
contrivance except with rod, hook and line is prohibited in the
waters of the Severn River and in the waters of any creek, cove,
tributary or inlet thereof. A line drawn from the extreme
