sidewalk improvements and providing for a committee of
citizens to expend said money.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That two new sections be and they are hereby added
to Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1888 Edition), title "Garrett County, " to be under sub-title
"Swanton, " to be known as Sections 224A and 224B, to fol-
low immediately after Section 224 of said Article, and to read
as follows:
224A. At the time of making the county levy in each year,
the County Commissioners of Garrett County shall levy one
hundred and fifty dollars ($150. 00), to be collected by the
County Treasurer and to be turned over to a committee of
citizens of the village of Swanton, in said county, for the pur-
pose of improving the streets and sidewalks in said village.
224B. The committee of citizens to expend the money in
improving the streets and sidewalks, as provided in the pre-
ceding section, shall serve without compensation and shall be
composed of R. W. Sheckells, Lemuel Friend and Arthur H.
Green. In case of a vacancy in said committee, the remaining
members shall name his successor, who must be a resident of
the village of Swanton.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 45.
AN ACT to empower the Mayor and Town Council of Garrett
Park to levy a special tax for the purpose of improving and
resurfacing the present road system of the said town, and
providing for a referendum thereon, and to use certain other
funds for the same purpose.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the purpose of improving and resurfacing
the roads of the Town of Garrett Park in Montgomery County,
