CHAPTER 508.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
483 of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Montgomery County, " sub-title "Rock-
ville, " as said Article was enacted by Chapter 790 of the
Acts of 1912, and to add six new sections to said Article,
to be known as Sections 483-A to 483-F, inclusive, to fol-
low immediately after Section 483, relating to registration,
primary elections and elections in said town; and to add
three newr sections to said Article, to be known as Sections
492-A, 492-B and 492-C, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 492, conferring additional powers upon the Mayor and
Council of Rockville, relative to streets and public im-
provements and the levying of special assessments for the
same, and conferring authority to issue bonds and to levy
and collect taxes to pay the interest and principal of said
bonds.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 483 of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County, "
sub-title "Rockville, " as said Article was enacted by Chapter
790 of the Acts of 1912, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, and that six new sections be and
they are hereby added to said Article, to be known as Sections
483-A to 483-F, inclusive, to follow immediately after Section
483 of said Article, and all to read as follows:
483. The citizens of said town having the qualifications
prescribed for voters by this Act, shall, on the first Monday in
May, 1928, and every two years thereafter on the same day, at
such place as shall be designated by the Mayor and Council, be-
tween the hours of twelve o'clock at noon and six-thirty o'clock
in the evening elect one person, at least thirty years of age, mayor
of said town, and four persons, not less than twenty-five years
of age, who, together with the mayor, shall constitute the coun-
cil; all of whom shall have resided in said town at least three
years previous to their election; they shall receive no pay for
their services, except the Mayor, who shall receive the fees
hereinafter allowed; provided, the place of holding the first
election under this charter shall be designated by the present
Mayor and Council of Rockville, who shall also appoint the
