of the Potomac river lying in St. Mary's and Charles counties
between the first day of April and the first day of October in
each year, or in the waters of Dorchester county or the Chop-
tank river in said county, between the fifteenth day of
April and the fifteenth day of September in each year;
provided, however, that nothing in this section shall be so con-
strued as to prevent any person or persons from removing or
transplanting oysters on private beds or taking oysters from
private beds for private use during the closed season, but not
for sale.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of
laws of the State of Maryland, general or local, inconsistent with
the provisions of this Act be and the same are hereby repealed,
to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1927.

CHAPTER 464.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Commissioners of
Oxford to build, construct, equip, maintain and operate a
water supply system, including drilled wells, receiving reser-
voirs, stand pipes, pumping stations, elevated tanks and
towers, mains, connections, and fire hydrants for municipal
and commercial purposes and for supplying water to the
citizens of Oxford and vicinity and to borrow on the good
faith and credit of said town of Oxford Forty Thousand
Dollars ($40, 000. 00) and to issue bonds or notes therefor,
and to provide for the payment of the same with interest
thereon and to authorize the Utilities Commission of Oxford
to have charge of said Water System after the same has been
put into operation by the Commissioners of Oxford, and pro-
viding for a referendum thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of Oxford be, and they are here-
by, authorized and empowered to build, construct, equip, main-
tain and operate a water supply system, for the town of Oxford,
Talbot County, State of Maryland, including drilled wells, re-
ceiving reservoirs, stand pipes, pumping stations, elevated tanks
and towers, mains, connections and fire hydrants for munici-
