SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

Approved April 5, 1927.

CHAPTER 457.

AN ACT to add an additional Section to Article 27, of the
Annotated Code of the Public General Laws of Maryland,
title "Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Robbery, " to be
known as Section 481-A, and to follow immediately after
'Section 481, to prescribe increased penalties for the offense
of Robbery with a dangerous or deadly weapon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That an additional Section be and it is hereby added to
Article 27, of the Annotated Code of the Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punishment, " sub-title "Rob-
bery, " said additional Section to be known as Section 481-A.
and to follow immediately after Section 481 of said Article
and to read as follows:

481-A. Every person convicted of the crime of robbery
or attempt to rob with a dangerous or deadly weapon or acces-
sory thereto, shall restore to the owner thereof the thing rob-
bed or taken, or shall pay him the full value thereof, and be
sentenced to imprisonment in the Maryland Penitentiary for
not more than twenty years.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after June 1, 1927, and apply to all robberies
committed on or after June 1, 1927, but shall have no effect
as to any robbery committed prior to that date, which prior
cases shall be prosecuted and punished under the pre-existing
law.
