AND WHEREAS, the said proceeds should be distributed among
the Boards of County Commissioners for the use of said Boards
of Education of the several counties and the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore in accordance with the laws creating said
funds; now, therefore
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Public Works of Maryland be and it
is hereby authorized and directed to sell to the best advantage
the securities owned by the State of Maryland for the benefit
of the Free School Fund particularly mentioned and described
in the preamble to this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That out of the proceeds
of said sale shall be paid to the Boards of County Commission-
ers for the use of the Board of Education of the several coun-
ties and to the City Comptroller of Baltimore City the amounts
to which said counties and the City of Baltimore, respectively,
shall be entitled, in accordance with this Act and the laws re-
lating to said funds. Provided, that the amount of said proceeds
for Charles County shall be paid to the Treasurer of the County
Board of Education for the use of the Building Committee cre-
ated to purchase site and erect public school building in or near
the town of La Plata in said County.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the several Boards
of Education aforesaid, the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, shall apply the sums of money received by them respec-
tively, under this Act in the erection or equipment of
schoolhouses or for the purchase of school lots, and for no other
purpose.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 454.
AN ACT to authorize the creation of a State debt in the ag-
gregate amount of two million, one hundred and twenty-five
thousand dollars ($2, 125, 000), the proceeds thereof to be
used for the completion of the Crain Highway and for the
construction of rural post roads and lateral roads, and for the
extension of the State Road System of Maryland, with the
