the control and dispositions of the Directresses of the said
Orphan Society, or a majority of them, as to the disposition
and application of estate, property, effects and funds, which
the said Trustees shall so hold or have in Trust in virtue of this
Act. And the said Directresses, or a majority of those in
office or serving as such, as of the date of June 1st, 1927, or any
time thereafter, shall have, and are hereby given full power,
authority and discretion to apply to the following purposes
any or all of the funds or assets now held or that may hereafter
come into their hands, directly or indirectly, to the credit of
the said Female Orphan Society of Annapolis, namely:

For the erection of children's and maternity wards and
quarters at the Emergency Hospital of Annapolis, said funds
or assets to be withdrawn and paid over to the proper officers
of the said Emergency Hospital by the order and direction of
the Directresses of the said Female Orphan Society of Annapo-
lis, or a majority of them in office, as aforesaid, provided the
contemplated improvements are made and without further
responsibility upon the said Directresses thereafter in connec-
tion with said funds or assets. Or in the judgment of the said
Directresses, subject to the approval of the Trustees of said
Female Orphan Society of Annapolis, to apply the funds and
assets now in their hands or that may hereafter come into their
hands to such charitable public purposes, as in their judgment
may put such funds and assets to the most practical public
beneficial use.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 450.

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the County Com-
missioners of Howard County to issue bonds on the faith
and credit of said County, in the amount of Two Hundred
Thousand Dollars, for the purpose of raising the money
necessary to pay the indebtedness (other than the bonded
indebtedness) of said County, and the floating debt thereof,
and to provide funds for the current expenses of said County
until the taxes to be levied in the year 1927, are available
