and taxed as set forth in the preceding paragraphs of this
section.

Section 254-D. That from and after January 1, 1928, the
water rents for property within the territory hereby added
to the corporate limits of the town of Pocomoke City and for
property within the old limits of the said town shall be the
same.

Section 254-E. That all public roads, streets, avenues and
alleys, lying in any of the territory added to the corporate
limits of Pocomoke City by this Act shall be public roads,
streets, avenues and alleys of the town of Pocomoke City, and,
subject only to the provisions of this Act, all the inhabitants
and the territory hereby annexed shall in all respects and
intents and purposes be subject to the powers, jurisdiction
and authority vested or to be vested by law in the Mayor and
Council of Pocomoke City and to all ordinances now in force,
and the territory so annexed shall be taken and considered as
part of the town of Pocomoke City.

Section 254-F. That all provisions of the Charter of Poco-
moke City and all other local or general laws applicable to the
town of Pocomoke City, and all amendments thereto, and all
the existing ordinances of the town of Pocomoke City, be and
the same are hereby extended and made to apply to the terri-
tory added to the corporate limits of Pocomoke City by this
Act; but nothing herein shall affect the power of the Mayor
and Council of Pocomoke City to amend or repeal any ordi-
nance existing at the time of the passage of this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take-
effect May 1, 1927.
