CHAPTER 429.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
180 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County as codified by Chapter 22 of the Acts of 1912, title
"County Commissioners, " as said Section repealed and re-
enacted Section 91 of Chapter 168 of the Acts of 1910, as
said Section was repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 572
of the Acts of 1914, relating to the salary of the Clerk to
the County Commissioners of Prince George's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 180 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Prince George's County as codified by Chapter 22 of the
Acts of 1912, title "County Commissioners, " as said Section
repealed and re-enacted Section 91 of Chapter 168 of the Acts
of 1910, as said Section was repealed and re-enacted by Chap-
ter 572 of the Acts of 1914, relating to the salary of the Clerk
to the County Commissioners of Prince George's County, be,
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments to read as follows:

180. The Clerk to the County Commissioners of said
County shall be entitled to an annual salary of twenty-five
hundred dollars ($2500); and the County Commissioners are
hereby forbidden to increase said salary or to give any extra
compensation to the said Clerk for any work he may do in his
office.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety, and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all
the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its pas-
sage.

CHAPTER 430.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County to appropriate Five Thousand
Dollars ($5, 000. 00) annually for the Prince George's
Volunteer Fire Association and to levy taxes to pay said
appropriation.
