be committed to the Prince George's County jail until said
fine arid costs are paid for a period not to exceed thirty days;
one-half the fine imposed and collected shall be paid to the
informer, and any person, other than the sheriff, or any deputy
sheriff or any constable at large, may be entitled to claim and
receive such informer's fee, upon due proof that he is entitled
to receive the same; and even though said person as the in-
former may be the duly authorized collector of dog tax. It
shall be the duty of the sheriff, and any deputy sheriff and all
constables to enforce the provisions of this Act; and each of
said officers are specially charged to make diligent inquiry and
investigate the violations of this Act.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners shall direct the constables in each District to kill
any dog for which said tax is not paid before the first day of
October in each year, and for such service the County Com-
missioners may allow such compensation as they may deem
adequate, provided it shall be paid from the tax collected on
dogs, and any person opposing or in any way hindering any
constable in killing any dog in the performance of his duties
shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10) nor more than one
hundred dollars ($100) and costs upon conviction before the
Police Justice in Prince George's County, and shall stand
committed to the County jail until said fine and costs are paid
for a period not to exceed sixty days.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That, every person who
shall maliciously remove from any dog wearing the legal tag
procured as in this Act provided, or allow his dog to run with-
out wearing such tag, shall pay a fine not to exceed five dollars
($5) and costs, upon conviction before the Police Justice of
Prince George's County; provided however that in case of the
loss of the tag issued as aforesaid, upon application to the
collector of dog taxes in the Election District in which the
owner of said dog resides, a duplicate tag may be furnished on
the payment of 25c. upon satisfactory evidence being furnished
that the tax of one dollar for a male dog and two dollars for a
female dog, as the case may be, has been paid for the current
year for the use of the dog.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That when any resident
of Prince George's County shall have any domestic fowls or
animals destroyed or injured by dogs, he may apply to any
