or live stock by dogs, and providing a penalty for the vio-
lation thereof; and providing for payment for Pasteur
treatment or other treatment of persons bitten by a mad
dog, cat, horse or other animal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That all owners of dogs at least six months old
before the first day of July in each year in Prince George's
County shall pay to the County an annual tax of one dollar
($1. 00) for each male dog, and two dollars ($2. 00) for each
female dog, except keepers of kennels, who shall pay a kennel
license of ten dollars ($10. 00) per annum for less than
twenty-five dogs; between twenty-five and fifty dogs twenty-
five dollars ($25. 00). The County Commissioners of Prince
George's County are hereby authorized, empowered and di--
rected to appoint on or before the first of June in the year
1927 for one year, and annually thereafter, one person in
each of the several Election Districts of Prince George's
County as the collector of dog tax in and for said District,
who before acting as such shall give bond to the State of
Maryland for the use of Prince George's County in the
penalty of two hundred dollars ($200) for the faithful per-
formance of his trust conditioned that he will diligently
collect and account for all sum or sums of money received
by him in collection of said tax, and pay over the same to
the County Commissioners. All kennel licenses applied for
shall be issued by the collector of dog licenses for the District
in which said kennel is located, which license shall specify
the name of the owner, the name of the kennel, and the
keeper of the same; and any dog kept or straying about the
premises of any person with his knowledge, whether said
person be the owner or only the occupant of said premises
shall be deemed for the purpose of this Section the property
of said person; the tax imposed by this Section shall be due
and payable on or before the first day of July of each year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That it shall be the
duty of the County Commissioners to provide each District
collector of dog taxes with sufficient, suitable metal tags,
having stamped on one side the number thereof, and on the
other side the year for which they are to be used, to be
worn on the neck of the dog or dogs, whose owner or owners
shall pay to the collector the said tax; and the County Com-
missioners shall provide the collectors of dog tax in each
