April, 1912, and also on the fourth Monday in April, 1912,
nominate one person as Clerk to the City Council, to be con-
firmed by the City Council; who shall perform such duties
as the Mayor and City Council shall assign, and shall receive
a salary or compensation of one hundred and twenty dollars
per annum and shall give such bond as may be required. The
said Clerk shall keep a neat and correct minute of the pro-
ceedings of the City Council, in a well-bound book, which
shall at all times be open for the inspection of any person
interested. He shall also enter in a well-bound book, kept for
said purpose only, a correct copy of all ordinances of the
Mayor and City Council and index the same as entered. He
shall also cause copies of all of said ordinances to be published
one time in at least two of the newspapers published in the
said town, and if there be only one such paper, then publication
therein shall be sufficient.
Section 213. The City Council shall meet upon the next
Monday night succeeding their election and after qualifying
by taking an oath to support the Constitution of the United
States and of the State of Maryland, and to faithfully, hon-
estly and impartially perform the duties of the office to which
they have been elected, shall proceed to organize by electing
one of their number President of the Council, and they shall
meet at 1: 30 o'clock P. M. on the second Monday of each
month for the transaction of general business. Three members
present and voting shall constitute a quorum of the City Coun-
cil for the transaction of business, and a majority vote of all
the members of said City Council shall be necessary for the
passage of any ordinance, resolution, order or appropriation.
All ordinances, resolutions, orders and appropriations shall
take effect from the date of their passage, unless otherwise
provided therein.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on the first day of June, 1927.

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 563 of the Acts of 1924 and to
add a new section to Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County, " to be
