clerk, deputy clerk, and bailiff; said clerk shall be paid an
annual salary of $1800. 00, payable monthly, said deputy clerk
shall be paid an annual salary of $1500. 00, payable monthly,
and said bailiff shall be paid an annual salary of $1, 200. 00,
payable monthly, all of which said salaries shall be paid by the
County Commissioners for Allegany County; said Clerk and
Deputy Clerk and Bailiff shall attend said Justices and shall
perform such duties as may be assigned to them by said Jus-
tices; all costs, fines and fees shall be paid to said Clerk, and
he shall accurately account for the same and monthly remit
the same to the County Commissioners for Allegany County,
and remit such fines to such other authority as they may be
payable under existing law; said clerk, before entering upon
his duties shall give bond to the State of Maryland, in the
penalty of $5, 000. 00 with corporate surety, the premium to be
paid by the County Commissioners; the condition of said bond
shall be that said clerk shall well and truly account for and re-
mit all moneys coming into his hands each month to the County
Treasurer for Allegany County, or to such other proper au-
thority as may be entitled thereto by existing law; said Clerk,
Deputy Clerk and Bailiff may be removed from office by the
said Justices upon refusal to perform their duties, or for mis-
conduct or neglect.

CONSTABLES AT LARGE.

Section 179-V. Said Justices of the Peace shall select from
among the Constables at Large appointed by the County Com-
missioners of Allegany County, two Constables who shall serve
all writs, warrants and other process or papers issued by either
of said Justices. Said Constables so selected shall each receive
the fees now and hereafter provided by law for the perform-
ance of their duties, and in the event either of such constables,
in the opinion of said Justices, shall fail to properly perform
his duties under this Act, said justice shall have the power
to select from among the said constables at large other con-
stables to perform said duties.

LEVY.

Section 179-W. The County Commissioners for Allegany
County are hereby directed, authorized and empowered to
make provision by appropriation in their annual levy during
the term for which said Justices of the Peace are appointed
from year to year sufficient funds to pay the salaries of said
Justices, Clerk or Clerks, Bailiff and Constables at Large;
