tice of the Peace, or other tribunal having criminal jurisdic-
tion, pay a fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars, together
with costs of prosecution, and the vehicle operated by such
person shall be held as security for the payment of such fine
and costs and such person shall stand committed to the County
Jail until such fine and costs are paid.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its pas-
sage.

CHAPTER 273.
AN ACT to repeal, and re-enact with amendments, Section
193 of Melvin's Code of Public Local Laws for Anne Arun-
del County (1914), entitled "Eastport" as said section was
amended by Chapter 695 of the Acts of 1920.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 193 of Melvin's Code of Public Local
Laws for Anne Arundel County, (1914) entitled "Eastport"
as said section was amended by Chapter 695 of the Acts of
1920.
Section 193. The policeman so appointed shall be paid
one hundred dollars per month, and the County Com-
missioners in making the annual levy shall provide for the
pay of said officer monthly. It shall be the duty of said
Commissioners to arm and equip said officer and to make
such rules and regulations for his proper conduct and disci-
pline, and immediately after the passage of this Act the said
Commissioners shall designate the boundary of the territory
over which said officer appointed, under the provisions of
this Act, shall have jurisdiction. All Acts or parts of any
Act inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June first, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven.
