410 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 227

SEC. 30. That the County Commissioners shall appoint and
furnish the Treasurer an office in the Court House for the trans-
action of his official business, and the said office shall be open
for that purpose each day of the year, Sunday and legal holi-
days excepted, from eight o'clock A. M. to five P. M.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby re-
pealed in so far as they apply to Wicomico County,

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, 1927.

CHAPTER 227.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Easton to purchase such additional fire equipment arid ap-
pliances as they may deem necessary for the use of said
town and to provide a suitable building to house the Easton
Fire Department and Equipment, and to provide offices in
said building for the needs of the Town Government; and
to borrow on the faith and credit of the town a sum not ex-
ceeding $30, 000., and to issue bonds therefor, and to provide
for the payment of the same with interest thereon; and for
the appointment of a commission to have charge of the pur-
chase of said equipment, and of the purchase of land and
erection of such building.

WHEREAS, by Ordinance Number 270, passed by the Mayor
and Council of Easton on the 21st day of January, 1927, a
special election was ordered to be held in the Town of Easton
on Tuesday, March 1st, 1927, at which election the question
should be submitted to the legally qualified voters of said town,
as to whether they were "for" or "against" the proposition to
purchase fire equipment and to provide suitable building to
house the Easton Fire Department, and to contain offices for
the various needs of the town government, and the issuance of
coupon bonds by the Mayor and Council of Easton for an
amount not exceeding $30, 000., and the levying of an annual
tax on the assessable property of the town sufficient to pay
such bonds with the interest thereon, as they severally become
due and payable;
