SEC. 9. And be it further enacted. That should any section
or part of a section of this Act be declared unconstitutional by
a court of competent jurisdiction, the validity of the other
sections or parts thereof shall not be affected thereby.
SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 704.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners
of Montgomery County to issue bonds on the credit of said
county to the amount of eight hundred thousand dollars
($800,000.00) for the repair and construction of public
roads and bridges, and to provide for levying of taxes to pay
the interest on said bonds and to redeem the bonds as they
mature.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery
County be and they are hereby authorized and directed to issue
serial coupon bonds on the credit of said county to the amount
of eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000.00), said bonds
to be issued in sums of one hundred ($100.00) dollars, or any
multiple thereof, to be signed by the President of the Board of
County Commissioners of said county and countersigned by the
Clerk of said Board, to bear interest at a rate not exceeding five
per centum per annum, payable semi-annually each and every
year during which said bonds shall be outstanding and remain
unpaid, and to be exempt from State, municipal and county
taxation. The said bonds shall have written on them a distinct
reference to the Act authorizing the issue and shall be desig-
nated as Montgomery County Roads Bonds, of 1927.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said County
Commissioners for Montgomery County are authorized and
directed to issue the said bonds and sell the same at such times
and in such amounts as they may deem necessary, provided that
not more than four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000.00)
