title "Justices of the Peace," as said section was re-enacted
and amended by Chapter 21 of the Acts of 1922, be and the
same is, hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, in-
creasing the compensation of the Justice of the Peace for
Juvenile Cases, as to read as follows:

184-A. In addition to the Justices of the Peace hereinbe-
fore mentioned, there shall be: appointed by the Governor, by
and with the consent of the Senate, and if the Senate shall not
be in session, by the Governor, for Allegany County at large an
additional Justice of the Peace to be known as the Magistrate
for Juvenile Cases, who shall receive a salary of Two Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500), per year, payable monthly,
two-thirds by the County Commissioners for Allegany County
and the other one-third by the Mayor and City Council of Cum-
berland, Maryland, and the jurisdiction and powers of such
Justice shall be as follows: (1) He shall possess the general
powers of a Justice of the Peace and also of the Justice of the
Peace who is selected to sit at the Police Court in the City of
Cumberland as the same are now or may hereafter be1 defined;
(2) He shall have full power and jurisdiction over and with
respect to delinquent, neglected and dependent minors under
the age of sixteen years, and of any person causing, encourag-
ing or contributing towards delinquency, neglect or depend-
ency of any such minor; (3) He shall have exclusive jurisdic-
tion in all cases of trial or commitment for trials or commit-
ment to any juvenile institution of any minor under sixteen
years of age where jurisdiction is given by law to any Justice
of the Peace, and such Magistrate shall sit at such times as
may be necessary for the proper discharge of his duties; (4)
Such Magistrate is empowered to appoint a, suitable person to
act as his clerk, who may be a woman, and who shall receive
an annual salary of Nine Hundred Dollars, payable monthly,
two-thirds from the County Commissioners of Allegany Coun-
ty and one-third from the Mayor and City Council of Cumber-
land, Maryland, and who shall attend at such times and places
and perform such duties as may be directed by said Magis-
trate, and who shall be removable by said Magistrate at his
discretion; and in assessing the costs in such cases as may
come before him, said Magistrate shall allow the same rate per
diem for attendance of witnesses and mileage outside the City
of Cumberland as is allowed in the Circuit Court for Allegany
County, which shall be paid by the Board of County Commis-
sioners for Allegany County in the same manner as is paid to
