which and each person for whom a, levy is made and the amount
thereof, and the said treasurer shall pay the same out of his
collections upon the order of the party or parties entitled
thereto, and the said Treasurer shall be entitled to a commis-
sion of three per centum on the amount of State and county
taxes collected and paid over by him, and it shall be the duty
of the county commissioners of said county, at their annual
levy of taxes, to levy a sufficient sum to pay the estimated
commission of the treasurer and the necessary expenses of the
office as required by this law.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 622.
AN ACT to give fire engines, hose trucks and other fire appa-
ratus and equipment, also ambulances, right of way over all
vehicular and other traffic on roads, highways and streets in
Talbot County, and to provide penalties for failing to give
said right of way.
WHEREAS the protection and preservation of human life and
and property requires that fire engines, vehicles and apparatus
used in Talbot County, Maryland by organized fire depart-
ments, including volunteer fire companies, should be given,
right of way over all vehicular and other traffic on, over and
across the roads, highways and streets in Talbot County, and
the protection and preservation of human life and health re-
quires that ambulances should be given right of way in like
manner on and over said roads, highways and streets in Talbot
County.
Now therefore:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That fire engines, hose trucks, auxiliary fire service trucks
and other fire apparatus and equipment of organized fire de-
partments, including volunteer fire companies, and ambulances,
while being operated or driven on the public roads, highways
or streets in Talbot County and while sounding a gong, bell,
: siren or other loud signal either continuously, or intermit-
