time that this Act shall take effect, then the County Com-
missioners of said County or the proper officials in Baltimore
City shall be required to provide in the next levy for the pay-
ment of the salary from the date of the supervisor taking
office.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That all Acts and parts of Acts incon-
sistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 571.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Licenses, " sub-
title "Motor Vehicles, " said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 184 and to follow immediately after Section 183 of said
Article, authorizing and directing the Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles to refuse to issue or transfer any marker,
certificate of registration or title for any motor vehicle
owned in Somerset County, unless taxes in arrears thereon
have been paid.

CHAPTER 572.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 81 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Revenue and
Taxes, " to follow immediately after Section 167, and to be
known as Section 167-A, fixing the rate of taxation for
Baltimore City on the stock of casualty, surety, guaranty
or fidelity companies organized under the laws of, located
and doing business in this State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, to
