of said Article, providing an annual salary for the Judges
of the Orphans' Court of said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 5 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1888 Edi-
tion), title "Calvert County, " to be under sub-title "Orphans'
Court, " to be known as Section 98-A, to follow immediately
after Section 98 of said Article, and to read as follows:

ORPHANS' COURT.

98-A. The Judges of the Orphans' Court of Calvert Coun-
ty shall receive a salary of two hundred dollars ($200. 00) each
per annum, to be paid to them in equal quarterly instalments
by the County Commissioners of said County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

Approved April 5, 1927.

CHAPTER 557.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Board of County Com-
missioners of Carroll County, to borrow, upon the faith and
credit of said County, a sum of money, not to exceed two
hundred and fifty thousand dollars, and to issue and sell
coupon bonds therefor, and to expend the proceeds therefrom
for the purpose of constructing and permanently improving
the public roads of said County, and to provide for the pay-
ment of the interest on said bonds, and of the principal
thereof as the same shall mature; and to provide for the
levying of taxes for the purpose of paying said interest and
to create a sinking fund for the liquidation of said bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of County Commissioners of Car-
roll County, in order to provide funds necessary for the con-
struction and permanent improvement of public roads in said
County, whenever and wherever the County Commissioners
shall have heretofore determined, or shall hereafter determine,
