19-A. No person except bona fide residents of Charles, St.
Mary's, Calvert, Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties
shall, in any part of the Patuxent River, take or catch fish
of any description, including eels, terrapin and turtles, with
a seine, gill net, pound net, trap net, fyke net, eel pot, or any
kind of net or device whatever for taking fish, including eels,
terrapin and turtles, except hook and line. Any person vio-
lating any of the provisions hereof shall, upon conviction, be
fined one hundred dollars ($100) or sentenced to the House
of Correction for not less than three months nor more than
one year, or both, in the discretion of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 554.
AN ACT to limit the number of mercantile establishments
commonly known as chain stores operated by any person,
firm, association or corporation in Allegany County, Mary-
land, and to provide for an additional license fee for said
stores in said Allegany County when such stores are licensed
in accordance with this Act and providing for penalties for
violation of this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That on and after June 1, 1927, it shall be unlaw-
ful within Allegany County, Maryland, for any person, firm,
association, or corporation, its servants or agents to establish,
own, operate, set-up or cause to be established, owned, or oper-
ated either directly or indirectly, under trade name for the
. sale of any brand of goods, wares, merchandise, more than five
mercantile or other stores for the sale of goods, wares, or mer-
chandise, commonly, known as chain store or chain stores for
the sale or retail of any goods, wares, or merchandise; any per-
son, firm, association, or corporation, its officers, agents, con-
signees or servants violating the provisions of this Section shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor upon conviction before the
Circuit Court of Allegany County and shall be fined not less
than Five Hundred ($500. 00) Dollars for each and every
