such paper for said advertising be in excess of the standard
rates heretofore adopted by the newspaper editors of Prince
George's County for similar advertising, than in a, newspaper
published in Prince George's County which has a; circulation
in the town of Mount Rainier once a week for two successive
weeks prior to said election and also by posting notices of such
election in at least two places within the limits of each ward in
said town.

The ballots shall be prepared as ballots are prepared for a
general town election and shall have printed thereon the words,
"For a special assessment of not to exceed 10 cents on each
$100 of real and personal property for use in providing neces-
sary police protection to the town of Mount Rainier, " with
a blank square opposite at the right of said words and im-
mediately thereunder shall be the following words, "Against
a special assessment of not to exceed 10 cents on each $100
of real and personal property for use in providing necessary
police protection to the town of Mount Rainier, " with a
blank square opposite at the right of said words.

And in the event that said election shall be held at the same
time that the regular town election is held, said words and
blank squares shall be printed on the regular ballot for said
election and the officials in charge of said regular election
shall act as officials for this election and said votes shall be
canvassed at the same time and in the same manner as are the
votes for the regular election.

And in the event that said election shall be held at some
other time than a regular election, then the Mayor and Com-
mon Council shall appoint the necessary officers to conduct
said election and the count and canvass of said ballots shall
be conducted as. provided in the town charter for all general
town elections.

And in the event that said election shall be held at some
other than a regular election the poll books showing the regis-
tered voters of said town last registered shall be used.

And in the event that at such election the majority of votes
cast for and against the amendment allowing the special tax
shall be in favor of allowing said special tax then this Act
shall be in full force and effect; but in event that the ma-
jority of votes so cast shall be against the amendment allowing
the special tax, then the Mayor and Common Council may
submit the same question in the same manner and under this
Act to the qualified voters of said town at the general town
