appellant, or his counsel, with his amendments or additions, as
hereinbefore provided, the said Bills of Exceptions with such
amendments or additions shall forthwith be presented to the
judge before whom the said case was tried, who shall settle the
same within five days thereafter. ''

CHAPTER 339.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Board of Public Works
to sell a certain lot in the City of Cumberland and to accept
from the Mayor and City Council a piece or parcel of land
for the purpose of erecting an armory and to allow the use
of the proceeds of such sale to be used in conjunction with
other funds available for the building of such armory, and
empowering the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland
to grant and convey a lot of ground suitable for such pur-
poses.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Public Works be and is hereby em-
powered and authorized, in its discretion, to sell and convey
all that lot laying on South Centre Street, in the City of Cum-
berland, heretofore purchased for the purpose of erecting an
armory upon the same, provided, that the Mayor and City
Council of Cumberland shall convey unto the State of Mary-

land a lot of ground situated on Greene or Johnson Street,
without cost to the State, provided, that the Adjutant-General
of the State of Maryland shall certify to the said Board of
Public Works that the said lot so to be conveyed by the said
Mayor and City Council is suitable for the erection of an

armory in said city.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in the event said
Board of Public Works shall sell said lot situated on South
Centre Street the proceeds therefrom shall be used and ex-
pended by the Adjutant-General only for the purpose of the
erection of said armory upon said lot situated on Greene or
Johnson Street, in addition to all of the funds now or here-
after available or appropriated for such purposes.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and City
Council of Cumberland be and it is hereby empowered and
authorized to convey to the State of Maryland, without cost
