CHAPTER 312.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 37 of
Article 91 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
title, "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title, "Public Roads. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 37 of Article 91 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title,
"Public Roads, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

37. Said commission shall keep all State highways reason-
ably clear of brush and maintain same in good condition; shall
cause suitable shade trees to be planted thereon, if practicable,
and may establish and maintain watering troughs upon such
highways. Said commission may give suitable names to the
State highways and change the name of any highway which be-
comes a part of the State highway. The said Commission is
hereby authorized and empowered, in its own discretion, to ade-
quately mark for direction and distance all improved highways
in the State.

Approved April 9, 1924.

CHAPTER 313.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5, of
Article 24, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
as codified by John W. Staton and legalized by the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1914, and amended by virtue of
Chapter 212 of the Acts of 1918, and as further amended by
virtue of Chapter 304 of the Acts of 1920, title "Worcester
County, " sub-title "Alms House. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 5 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, as codified by John W. Staton and legalized
by the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914, and amended by
virtue of Chapter 212 of the Acts of 1918, and as further amend-
ed by virtue of Chapter 304 of the Acts of 1920, title "Worces-
ter County, " sub-title "Alms House, " be and the same is here-
by repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as
follows:

5. That upon the sale or the whole of said property it shall
be the duty of said County Commissioners of Worcester County
