directed to call a joint meeting of the Board of Welfare and
the Board of Mental Hygiene as often as he may deem proper
for the purpose of promoting the general efficiency of all in-
stitutions, constituting a part of the Department of Welfare.

CHAPTER 284.
AN ACT to add an additional section to Article 81 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-
title "State Tax Commission", said additional section to
come in immediately after Section 248 and to be designated
as 248-A of said Article 81, prescribing an oath of office
for assessors.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That an additional section be and the same is hereby add-
ed to Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Rev-
enue and Taxes", sub-title "State Tax Commission'', said ad-
ditional section to follow immediately after Section 248 and
to be designated as 248-A of said Article 81 and to read as
follows:
248-A. All assessors appointed under the provisions of this
Section shall take and subscribe to the oath provided for in the
Constitution before the Clerk of the Circuit Court, or one of his
deputies, of the County for which they shall act.

CHAPTER 285.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Salisbury to borrow the sum of Twenty-five Thousand Dol-
lars and to issue bonds for the payment of the same,
for the purpose of making certain improvements to the
public streets within the corporate limits of the City of
Salisbury.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Salisbury be, and it is
hereby authorized and empowered to borrow a sum of money
not to. exceed the sum of Twenty-five Thousand Dollars, upon
the faith and credit of Salisbury, as hereinafter provided, and
to issue and sell coupon bonds to raise the said sum of money
