CHAPTER 261.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 143
of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County
of the Edition of 1916, title "Baltimore County, " sub-title
"County Treasurer, " providing for allowing an additional
sum to the County Treasurer for clerk hire and expenses.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 143 of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws
of Baltimore County of the Edition of 1916 be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to
read as follows:
Section 143. He shall" appoint such clerk or clerks as may
be found necessary to the proper discharge of the duties of his
office, and he shall be allowed for such clerk hire such sum as
the County Commissioners shall deem necessary for the proper
conducting of his office.

CHAPTER 262.
AN ACT to require the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to lower
its tracks at the intersection of its Metropolitan Branch and
the Maryland State Road connecting Georgia Avenue, in
the District of Columbia, and Olney, Montgomery County,
Maryland, commonly known as the Brookville Road, and to
provide a penalty for failure to comply with this Act.

CHAPTER 263.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 745
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(Revised Edition of 1915), title "City of Baltimore, " sub-
title, "Police Commissioners, " as said section was amended
by Chapter 507 of the Act of 1922, increasing the pay of
persons holding certain offices, ranks and grades in the
Police Department of Baltimore City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 745 of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (Revised Edition of 1915),
