benefits, or seventy-five dollars ($75. 00) or its equivalent
annually upon any contract of annuity or during sickness or
disability.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted as aforesaid, That said corpora-
tion shall at all times maintain the legal reserves provided in
said General Laws and in said Chapter 492 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January Session
1922.

CHAPTER 228.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore, " to follow Section 36A
of said Article 4 and to be designated 36AA (Section 36A
of said Article 4 being included in the Charter of Baltimore
City as adopted by the voters of said city at the election in
November, 1918), said new section authorizing the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore to increase the salaries of
the members of the Board of Estimates.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be, and is hereby added to Article 4
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore, "
to follow Section 36A of said Article 4 and to be designated
36AA (Section 36A of said Article 4 being included in the
charter of said city as adopted by the voters of said city at the
election in November, 1918).
36AA. The Mayor and City Council may, by ordinance,
increase or decrease the salaries of the members of the Board
of Estimates, but when the salary of any member shall be so
increased or decreased it shall not again be increased or de-
creased during his term of office. The Board of Estimates shall
include in the Ordinance of Estimates each year the salaries
of its members as fixed by ordinance.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.
