Moriarty, a former member of the Fire Department of said
city, the said pension to be equal in amount to the pensions
paid retired members of the same rank of the said Fire Depart-
ment, and to-be paid at such time or times as similar pensions
are paid.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall tab:
effect June 1. 1924.

Approved April 9, 1924.

CHAPTER 199.

AN ACT to authorize the Police Commissioner of Baltimore
City to pay a pension to George Winters, a former member
of the Police Department of said City.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 200.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 149
of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-

land, title ''Wicomico County, " sub-title "Salisbury, " as
said section was amended by Chapter 265 of the Acts of
1916, relating to the Clerk of Salisbury.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 149 of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico County, " sub-title
"Salisbury, " as said section was amended by Chapter 265 of
the Acts of 1916, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:

149. At the first regular meeting in July, 1924, and at the
same time every second year thereafter the Mayor shall appoint,
subject to confirmation by the Council, one person, a resident
and qualified voter of this city, not a member of the Council,
to act as Clerk to the Council, Collector of City Taxes and
Treasurer, who shall be the same person, and whose term of
office shall be two years and until his successor is duly quali-
fied. The said officer shall receive such salary as may be fixed
by the Mayor and Council, not to exceed fifteen hundred dol-
lars per year, and he shall perform all the duties imposed an
him by law or ordinances of the City, and shall be called "Clerk
of Salisbury. " For the purpose of performing his duties as
