CHAPTER 20.

AN ACT to exempt from taxation the Real and Personal
property of The Loats Female Orphan Asylum of
Frederick City, in the County of Frederick so long as it
is used for Asylum and School purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the real and personal property of The Loats
Female Orphan Asylum of Frederick City, in the County
of Frederick shall be exempt from county and municipal
taxation; provided, however that the said property shall only
be exempt from such taxation so long as it is used for Asylum
and School purposes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Aft shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

Approved March 5, 1924.

CHAPTER 21

AN ACT to add four new sections to Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (Dennis' Edition), title
"Frederick County, " sub-title "Jurors, " as the same was
legalized by Chapter 86 of the Acts of 1918, said new sec-
tions to be known as Sections 486A, 486B, 486C and 486D
and to follow immediately after Section 486 of said Article,
providing for a Clerk to the Grand Juries of said county,
defining his duties and imposing a penalty for the violation
thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the four new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 11 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland
(Dennis' Edition), title "Frederick County, " sub-title
"Jurors, " as the same was legalized by Chapter 86 of the Acts
of 1918, said new sections to be known as Sections 486A,
486B, 486C and 486D, to follow immediately after Section
486 of said Article, and to read as follows:

486A. Upon the organization of each Grand Jury the
Judge or Judges of the Circuit Court for Frederick County
may and they are hereby authorized and empowered to appoint
a clerk who shall be a competent stenographer; at a compensa-
tion to be determined from time to time by the Judge or
