mission. All of said members shall serve without compensa-
tion but they shall be reimbursed for the actual expenses in-
curred in the performance of the duties imposed upon them
by this Act.

The said Garrett County School Building Commission shall
purchase the sites and build or repair school buildings under
the provisions of this Act, and expend all of the funds which
are paid over to said commission, under Section 5 of this Act.
The provisions of this Act shall be construed as additional and
supplementary to, and not in substitution or in conflict with,
any of the provisions of the general laws of this State relating
to public schools, and the powers of the State Superintendent
of Schools, in regard to plans, construction and erection of
public school buildings.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That at the general
election in November, 1924, there shall be submitted to the
qualified voters of Garrett County the question whether the
said bonds shall be issued, and at such general election the
ballots used and cast upon the question shall have printed or
written thereon the words "For the Bond Issue" and "Against
the Bond Issue, " and if the majority of the votes cast upon
said question shall be "For the Bond Issue, " then the County
Commissioners for Garrett County shall proceed to exercise
the power vested in them by this Act, and shall issue the bonds
as herein provided; but if a majority of the votes cast upon
said question shall be "Against the Bond Issue, " then this
Act shall be null and void, and said bonds shall not be issued.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1924.

CHAPTER 600.

AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 40 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "General Assembly, " sub-title
"Department of Legislative Reference, " said new sections to
be known as Sections 17, 18 and 19 and to follow immedi-
ately after Section 16 of said Article, imposing additional
duties upon the Department of Legislative Reference by
providing for the examination as to form, etc., of bills intro-
duced or to be introduced.
