CHAPTER 558.

AN ACT to add a new section to Chapter 122 of the Acts of
1918, creating a Sanitary District within Montgomery and
Prince George's Counties, as said Act was amended by
Chapter 518 of the Acts of 1920, said new section to be
known as Section 3A and to follow Section 3 of said Chap-
ter 122 of the Acts of 1918 as amended by Chapter 518 of
the Acts of 1020, making it unlawful to empty a sewer or
sewer drain into any river, stream, stream bed or waterway
or to construct an open sewer within said Sanitary District
within Prince George's County and providing for the re-
moval of all existing open sewers.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 559.

AN ACT to authorize and empower any municipality of the
State of Maryland, having a population not exceeding fifty
thousand inhabitants, to levy a tax for the maintenance and
employment of a band for musical purposes for the benefit
of the public, provided said special question is submitted to
the duly qualified voters of such municipalities and adopted
or agreed to by a majority vote of those participating in
said election.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 560.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Cumberland to regulate and restrict the height, num-
ber of stories and size of buildings and other structures, the
percentage of lot that may be occupied, the size of yards,
courts and other open spaces, the density of population, and
the location and use of buildings, structures and land for
trade, industry, residence or other purposes", and to be known
as the "Zone Law of the City of Cumberland. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland, for
the purpose of promoting health, safety, morals, or the general
welfare of the community, be and it is hereby authorized and
empowered to regulate and restrict the height, number of
