payment of current expenses of the County as the same may
accrue, or shall have accrued, except for roads and bridges;
Third, to the payment for the improvements to the land record
room and other improvements to the Court House, as deemed
proper by the County Commissioners, provided the improve-
ments recommended by the County Commissioners do not ex-
ceed $40, 000. "; and

WHEREAS, in further pursuance of said Act, bonds to the
full amount of $400, 000 were duly issued by said County Com-
missioners and the proceeds therefrom received and deposited
to the credit of said County, and certain expenditures made
on account of the purposes hereinbefore mentioned; and

WHEREAS, there now remains in said fund a net balance
of, approximately, $168, 000. and with no occasion to use the
said fund or any part thereof for the purposes specified in the
said Act; and

WHEREAS, there exists an imperative need on the part of the
said County for funds with which to pay for bridge repairs
and constructions, to cover an existing deficit for said item,
and also for repairs and enlargements of the land record room
and to the Court House; and

WHEREAS, in order to meet the said demands for funds for
the purposes last above mentioned, the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County have requested authority to apply
from the aforesaid net balance from the sale of bonds under
Chapter 508 of the Acts of 1922, such part of said fund as may
be necessary to cover said requirements, and also for author-
ity to use the remaining portion of said fund for such County
purposes as said County Commissioners may find necessary and
expedient.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
are hereby authorized and empowered to use for, and apply to,
the following purposes the balance remaining to the credit of
said County from the sale of bonds issued in pursuance of Chap-
ter 508 of the Acts of 1922, namely: (1). To the repair
and construction of bridges of the County, the sum of $50. 000.:
(2). To cover a deficit in the present bridge fund, $24, 000.:
To pay for the improvements and alterations to the land record
room and other improvements to the Court House, as deemed
proper by the County Commissioners, $40, 000. or as much
thereof as may be deemed necessary; and (4). To apply the
