tion 776-C of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Chapter 432 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1922, relating to the pen-
sion system of Baltimore City, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 412.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Licenses, " sub-title "Motor Vehi-
cles, " said new section to be known as Section 141A, and to
follow immediately after Section 141, the same authorizing
and directing the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles to re-
fuse to issue any marker, certificate of registration or title
for any motor vehicle owned in the City of Baltimore, un-
less taxes in arrears thereon have been paid.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be, and the same is hereby added to
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Licen-
ses", sub-title "Motor Vehicles", said new section to be known
as Section 141-A, to follow immediately after Section 141,
and to read as follows:
141-A. The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles is hereby au-
thorized and directed to refuse to issue or transfer any plate
or marker, certificate of registration or title for any motor
vehicle unless he is satisfied that all taxes due and in arrears
thereon have been paid. This section shall only apply to ap-
plications made for motor vehicles owned in the City of Bal-
timore, and provided that this section shall apply only in the
case of taxes becoming due and in arrears in the year 1924
and thereafter. Nothing in this Act shall apply to commercial
trucks.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.
