ered and directed to do whatever may be necessary to carry
into effect the provisions of this Act.
SEC. 4. That this Act shall take effect on the first day of
June, nineteen hundred and twenty-four.

CHAPTER 398.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Worcester County to issue bonds for the purpose of build-
ing and equipping certain public school buildings in said
Worcester County and of procuring suitable sites therefor,
and appointing a Commission to supervise and direct the
expenditure of money arising from the sale of said bonds,
and to refer the question of said bond issue to the qualified
voters of said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of building and equipping a perma-
nent new public High School building in each of the towns of
Snow Hill, Pocomoke City and Berlin; a High and Elementary
school building in Stockton, school buildings in Bishopville and
Whaleyville, and colored school buildings in Worcester County,
and of procuring suitable sites, therefor the County Commis-
sioners of Worcester County are hereby authorized, empowered
and directed to borrow on the faith and credit of said Worcester
County the aggregate sum of three hundred thousand dollars and
to issue bonds therefor as hereinafter directed, to be signed by
the President of the County Commissioners of Worcester County
and countersigned by the County Treasurer of said County with
the seal of said County affixed thereto.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted as aforesaid, That the said
bonds shall be issued in denominations of not less than five hun-
dred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars each, with
coupons attached thereto for the payment of the interest thereon
semi-annually on the first day of January and July in each and
every year until the maturity thereof, said coupons to have the
signature of the County Treasurer printed or written thereon:
said bonds shall be issued as of July 1, 1924. and shall bear in-
terest from the date thereof at the rate of five per centum per an-
num and shall forever be exempt from taxation for State, County
and municipal and other local purposes and shall have printed
on them a distinct reference to the Act directing their issue.
