WHEREAS the days for such new general registration are fixed
by law can only be changed by the General Assembly of
Maryland; and
WHEREAS because of exceptional and unforseen circumstances
it will be impossible for a large number of the citizens of Balti-
more to register on any one of the registration days so fixed by
law, and for that reason an occasion exists which requires a special
or extraordinary session of the General Assembly of Maryland.
Now, THEREFORE, I, ALBERT C. RITCHIE, GOVERNOR OF MARY-
LAND, by virtue of the authority conferred and duly imposed upon
me by the Constitution, do hereby call a special or extraordinary
session of the General Assembly of Maryland to consider and act
upon measures necessary to remedy the situation aforesaid, said
session to begin at twelve o'clock noon, eastern standard time, on
Tuesday, the twenty-ninth day of July, in the year of our Lord,
one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the State Capitol, in the
City of Annapolis.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my
hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of
the State of Maryland, at the City of Annapolis,
on this 19th day of July, in the year of our
Lord, one thousand nine hundred and thirty.
