TRUSS AND SUPPORTERS.

DR. ANDREW DUNN,

No. 3 WEST FAYETTE STREET,

UNDER THE RECHABITE HALL,

Respectfully informs the citizens of Baltimore, that he is prepared to treat all Hernial difficulties and
particularly the diseases to which women are exposed. His arrangements with Mr. SANDERSON,
the Proprietor of Dr. HOOD'S TRUSS, as improved, and Dr. HOOD'S SUPPORTER, the most sim-
ple and effective Instrument in use enables him to meet the several difficulties with full confidence of
success. The Truss

Which differs from all other instruments of the kind, is a simple adaptation of the lever to the shape of
the body, and to the indications of the disease. Its action from the centre towards the sides, meets the
descending bowel and by compressing the whole of the canal, closes it and the internal opening
against further protrusion. The SUPPORTER

Which acts upon the same principle of leverage, and by avoiding the rectus abdominus and the several
organs immediately located behind it, the pressure is thrown where the support is wanted, and of;
course the viscera prevented from encroaching upon the organs of the Pilvis. This action which is pe-
culiar, and alone obtained from this instrument, removes one of the principle and most irritatingcauses
of the disease, and by holding the visera of the abdomen within the cavity, enables them to perform their
jereral functions, and of course the action of the remedies employed in the treatment.

DR. A.DUNN,

No. 3 RECHABITE HALL, WEST FAYETTE STREET.
